The Raymarine STNG SPUR cable is a spur cable that connects devices (blue/black) to the BackBone cable, which, as the name suggests, is the “spine” cable. The BackBone cable runs from the beginning to the end of the STNG network on the boat. It is sensible to construct the network using cables of different lengths, allowing for breaks and the addition of T-connectors or 5-Way connectors to places where various STNG instruments need to be connected. The BackBone is the main cable of the STNG network, and STNG terminators, connectors, and 12V power must be added to start, continue, or finish the network. STNG blue and white cables cannot be connected incorrectly; in addition to colour coding, STNG cables also have different pin arrangements. Before using the product, familiarise yourself with the operating principles of the STNG (NMEA2000) network. NB! The blue and white nuts on the STNG connector sockets should only be turned a quarter of a turn. Corresponding markings are indicated on the product.
