What to monitor when installing Raymarine RV transducers
RealVision 3D™ transducers ensure maximum sonar image detail and accuracy only when correctly installed. In addition to the official installation guide, be sure to follow these principles:
1. Choose the correct power supply
Do not connect Axiom Pro RVX-i ega RVX1000 sonar module to the starter motor. The sound generated when the engine starts Ping-pong can To cause the sonar image to be lost, which disrupts the device's operation and navigation.
2. Avoid installation locations that create turbulence
The floor covering must not be installed in the vicinity of air intakes, protruding parts or other obstructions, which can cause Turbulence and air bubbles – these affect sonar image quality.
3. Precise and symmetrical installation is critically important!
-
The hardware must be installed exactly parallel, the same distance from the stern of the boat.
-
If one sensor is ahead of or behind another, The sonar image is shifting..
-
Andurite The distance must not exceed 2 metres (preferably up to 1 metre on either side of the wedge).
4. Depth below the waterline
The doors must be installed at least 300 mm below the water line – during travel, to ensure continuous water contact.
5. Effect of magnetic fields on the AHRS system
On the RV-anduritel Integrated AHRS (Attitude and Heading Reference Sensor), stabilises the sonar image.
-
Avoid installation metal and components with strong electromagnetic radiation nearby (e.g. engine blocks, inverters, chargers, electrical panels).
-
When necessary Turn off the AHRS function from the menu If it does not work correctly due to interference.
RV-212 Bronze Thru-Hull Transducer Pair, 12° a plug, 2 m Y-cable and 8 m extension cable
The RV-200 series transducers feature DownVision™, SideVision™, 600-watt High CHIRP, and 3D sonar support. The transducer has a built-in Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) that stabilises the 3D sonar imagery by automatically compensating for boat motion. The RV-200 series also has a built-in fast-response water temperature sensor for quick and accurate readings.
The RV-212 is a pair of port and starboard transducers designed for boats with a hull deadrise angle of 6° to 18°. Each transducer element is tilted 12° to compensate for hull deadrise.
The RV-212 transducers have tilted sonar elements within surface-mount housings. The tilted elements ensure the correct alignment of the sonar beam for maximum performance, while eliminating the drag and turbulence associated with mounting a transducer with a blanking plug. The kit includes a Y-cable that internally connects two transducers and an 8-meter RV(M) transducer extension cable.
Works with Axiom 2 Pro RVX series and RVX1000 external sonar module
Features:
- 600W traditional CHIRP
- High-performance Down and SideVision elements
- Aerodynamic housing with insulation board
- 2M Y-cable
- 8M extension lead
- The RV-212 port and starboard sensor pair is suitable for hulls with a draught angle between 6° and 18°.
