Important recommendations for installing Raymarine RV transducers
To ensure correct sensor operation In addition to choosing the installation location appropriate for the boat type, the following instructions must also be followed:
-
Power supply selection
Ensure that The Axiom RV, Axiom Pro RVX or RVX1000 BlackBox sonar modules would not be connected to a starter battery.. The sound generated when the engine starts Ping-pong may cause the sonar image to be lost (“image disappears”). -
Avoiding turbulence:
Do not install sensors near protruding elements or water inlets, there they create Turbulence and air bubbles, they interfere with the sonar image. -
Parallel installation
All sensors must be installed exactly parallel, the same distance from the stern of the boat. If one transducer is ahead or behind the other, the sonar image Niggardly and imprecise. -
Distance between Andurite:
The maximum distance between two sensors in the width direction is 2 metres (or up to 1 metre to the right and left). This difference is usually within limits of 1 metre. -
Location relative to the waterline:
The doors must be installed at least 300 mm below the water line – both when stationary and while driving. -
Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS):
The RV has built-in Stabiliser, which compensates for the boat's movement and ensures the sonar image remains stable. -
Avoid magnetic interference
AHRS is working based on magnetic field, so the sensor must not be fitted metals, motors, chargers, electrical cables or other strong magnetic field sources nearby. Such disruptions can location determination and image processing. If needed, the AHRS function can be disabled from the plotter's menu.
Product introduction: Raymarine RV-312 Plastic Through Hull transducer package
Raymarine RV-312 Through-body mount RealVision 3D sonar technology sensor pair, it is suitable for both outboard and inboard engine boats. The package also includes two 4-channel CHIRP transducer, which we offer:
-
DownVision™ and SideVision™ sonar views
-
High-frequency CHIRP sonar for fish finding
-
RealVision 3D™ technology for three-dimensional underwater display
-
AHRS stabilisers to compensate for movement
-
Water temperature sensor
RV-312 is suitable for boats with a hull inclination. 6°–18°, thanks to the built-in compensation, wedge blocks are not required. Low profile design reduces water resistance and is also suitable for towed boats.

-
RV-312P left sensor (2 m cable)
-
RV-312S right-hand sensor (2 m cable)
-
Y-cable and 8m extension cable (total length 10m)
