The Autopilot Pedestal Mount is a support designed to lift the body-end of the autopilot drive. This ensures the drive is aligned horizontally with the pin. The support is attached to a horizontal surface of the hull and is available in sizes of 38mm, 51mm, 64mm, 76mm and 89mm. During installation, it is not always possible to precisely control where the rear end of the ST1000+, ST2000+, ST4000 autopilot drive is attached. The most sensible, accessible, and robust location must be chosen. At the same time, important installation dimensions must be observed: 460mm from the steering sector towards the pin handle, and as parallel as possible to the boat and the steering pin. Another important measurement is the so-called “Midstroke”, the centre position. For the ST1000+ and ST2000+, this is 589mm, and for the ST4000, it is 620mm. These are the distances between the centres of the steering pin and hull-side attachments. To achieve the ideal result, it may sometimes be necessary to use various extension links, brackets for raising or lowering the pin's plane, and extension supports that attach to a horizontal or vertical wall.
