The STNG BackBone 400 mm adapter cable is a good option for connecting an STNG network to an existing NMEA2000 network, or vice versa. If you connect it to the end of an existing network, one adapter cable will be needed, and if you connect it in the middle, two adapter cables will be required. Choose the NMEA2000 connector that suits you, with two options available: Male or Female. The Raymarine STNG BackBone (blue/black) cable, as the name suggests, is the “backbone” cable. The Backbone cable runs from the beginning to the end of the STNG network on the boat, and it is sensible to build the network using cables of different lengths so that you can make breaks and add T-connectors or 5-way connectors in places where you need to add different STNG instruments. The Backbone is the main cable of the STNG network, and to start, extend, or terminate the network, you must add STNG terminators, connectors, and a 12V power supply. STNG blue and white cables cannot be connected incorrectly; in addition to colour coding, STNG cables also have different pin layouts. Before using the product, familiarise yourself with the operating principles of an STNG (NMEA2000) network. NB! The blue and white nuts on the STNG connector sockets should only be turned a quarter of a turn. Corresponding markings are indicated on the product.
