The Raymarine STNG Backbone (blue/black) cable, as the name suggests, is the “spine” cable. The Backbone cable runs from the beginning to the end of the boat's STNG network. It is sensible to construct the network using cables of various lengths so that you can make breaks and add T-connectors or 5-Way connectors where different STNG instruments need to be added. The Backbone is the main cable of the STNG network, and to start, continue, or end the network, STNG terminators, connectors, and 12V power must be added. STNG blue and white cables cannot be connected incorrectly; in addition to the colour coding, STNG cables also have different pin configurations. Before using the product, familiarise yourself with the operating principles of the STNG (NMEA2000) network. NB! The blue and white nuts on the STNG connector sockets should only be turned a quarter of a turn. Corresponding markings are indicated on the product.
