The Raymarine STNG – SeaTalk1 adapter cable is designed to connect an STNG – SeaTalk1 converter or an i50, i60, i70, p70s, p70Rs instrument to a SeaTalk1 network. The Raymarine STNG SPUR cable is a branch cable through which devices (blue/black) are connected to the BackBone cable, which, as the name suggests, is the “spine” cable. The BackBone cable runs from the beginning to the end of the STNG network on the boat, and it is sensible to construct the network from cables of different lengths so that interruptions can be made and T-connectors or 5-Way connectors can be added in places where different STNG instruments need to be added. The BackBone is the main cable of the STNG network, and to start, continue, or terminate the network, STNG terminators, connectors, and a 12V power supply must be added. STNG blue and white cables cannot be connected incorrectly; in addition to colour-coding, STNG cables also have different pin arrangements.
