A Raymarine STNG Backbone terminator is a very important component of an STNG (NMEA 2000) network. An STNG network must start and end with a terminator, with strictly only 2 terminators per network. Once the network is set up, there should be no empty blue sockets on an STNG network. All cables and connectors are colour-coded, and blue and white cables cannot be connected to the wrong socket on an STNG connector; the pin layout is different. Familiarise yourself with the operating principles of an STNG (NMEA 2000) network before using the product. NB!
