Self-installing NMEA 2000® Micro-C 90º Female Elbow Connector

The Maretron field-installable NMEA 2000 Micro-C angled connector is designed for making 90º turns in tight spaces. Often, situations arise where a new plotter just barely fits into an old mounting console, but straight connector cables no longer fit. This is where the 90º angled connector comes in handy. The field-installable angled connector has another good feature: its insert can be rotated so that the connector's pinout faces in four different directions. In NMEA 2000® systems, it is essential to use only special NMEA 2000® approved cables and connectors to ensure correct data transmission and network reliability. Use original adapter cables to integrate the NMEA2000 network with a Raymarine STNG network. Do not duplicate the power supply or ground of different integrated networks.

Quick guide

Thread the NMEA 2000 cable through the connector housing. Strip approximately 20 mm of the cable's outer insulation. Cut the blue wire 7 mm shorter than the others. Clean the wire ends and fit uninsulated ferrules (max. length 6 mm) to all wires that will be screwed down. Fit a heat shrink tube over the unsleeved drain wire to prevent it from touching the screw for the central Can-L (blue) terminal. The blue wire, which is 7 mm shorter than the others, should be connected last. Insert the connector core into the housing so that the wire groove faces the desired direction; there are 4 possible positions. Hand-tighten the plastic nut; do not overtighten. Ensure the cable exiting the connector is free in the socket and manually tighten the cable strain relief nut.
