When installing Raymarine RVM transducers, consider the following:
RealVision Max 3D™ transducers guarantee maximum sonar image detail and accuracy only when installed correctly. In addition to the official installation guide, be sure to follow these principles:
1. Choose the correct power supply
Do not connect Axiom2 Pro RVM-i Attach the RVM1600 sonar module to the starter crank.. The sound generated when the engine starts Ping-pong can To cause the sonar image to be lost, which disrupts the device's operation and navigation.
2. Avoid installation locations that create turbulence
The floor covering must not be installed in the vicinity of air intakes, protruding parts or other obstructions, which can cause Turbulence and air bubbles – these affect sonar image quality.
3. Precise and symmetrical installation is critically important!
-
The hardware must be installed exactly parallel, the same distance from the stern of the boat.
-
If one sensor is ahead of or behind another, The sonar image is shifting..
-
Andurite The distance must not exceed 2 metres (preferably up to 1 metre on either side of the wedge).
4. Depth below the waterline
The doors must be installed at least 300 mm below the water line – during travel, to ensure continuous water contact.
5. Effect of magnetic fields on the AHRS system
RVM users have Integrated AHRS (Attitude and Heading Reference Sensor), stabilises the sonar image.
-
Avoid installation metal and components with strong electromagnetic radiation nearby (e.g. engine blocks, inverters, chargers, electrical panels).
-
When necessary Turn off the AHRS function from the menu If it does not work correctly due to interference.
RVM-420 stainless steel thru-hull transducer pair, 20-degree tilt, with 2m Y-cable and 8m extension cable
The RVM-400 series transducers feature DownVision™, SideVision™, a 600-watt high CHIRP signal, and 3D sonar support. The transducer has a built-in Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) that stabilises the 3D sonar imagery by automatically compensating for vessel motion. The RVM-400 series also has a built-in fast-response water temperature sensor for quick and accurate readings.
The RVM-420 is a pair of starboard and port transducers designed for boats with hull deadrise angles of 15° to 25°. Each transducer element is tilted 20° to compensate for the hull's deadrise.
The RVM-420 transducers have their sonar elements offset within the surface-mount housings. The offset elements ensure the sonar beams are aimed correctly for maximum performance, while eliminating the obstruction and turbulence associated with installing a transducer with a blocked dome. The kit includes a Y-cable that internally connects the two transducers and an 8-meter RV(M) transducer extension cable.
Works with Axiom 2 Pro RVM series and RVM1600 external sonar module
Features:
- 600W traditional CHIRP
- High-performance Down and SideVision elements
- Aerodynamic housing with insulation board
- 2M Y-cable
- 8M extension lead
- The RVM-420 port and starboard sensor pair is suitable for hulls with a pitch angle ranging from 15° to 25°.
