The Raymarine 4000 MK2 Wheel Drive motor (A18086) is a necessary spare part if you are planning a longer holiday trip. Before ordering the motor, ensure that the voltage is actually reaching the drive's connector, and check the connection cable and plugs. If the motor spins but the belt pulley does not move, then the gearbox is most likely broken. If the belt pulley moves but the drive does not, then you probably only need a new drive belt. When replacing the motor, several components need to be removed from the drive; be careful not to lose anything and take pictures of the different stages before disassembling just in case. The old motor needs to be desoldered from the two cables coming from the socket, and these cables need to be soldered onto the new motor. On the new motor, one terminal is marked with a red dot; please solder the red wire coming from the socket to this terminal and the black wire to the unmarked terminal. The new motor already has pre-soldered bypass capacitors, and these must remain as they are.
