VHF NMEA 0183 – Seatalk NG converter allows position information, i.e. coordinates, to be sent from the STNG network to an older VHF radio with only an NMEA0183 interface. NB! The converter is unidirectional, the signal only travels from the STNG (NMEA2000) network to the VHF radio, and the Baud Rate is 4800. Two-way conversion does not occur.

All Raymarine SeaTalk NG cables and connectors are colour-coded:
The blue connector slot is suitable for a blue/black cable, which is the BackBone or main cable, also known as: Trunk Cable. The white connector slot is suitable for a white/black cable, which is the SPUR or branch cable, also known as: Drop Cable (Drop Trunk Cable). The wrong cable will not fit into the wrong slot. When preparing for installation, make a plan so that a BackBone cable of the appropriate length runs to all locations where STNG (NMEA 2000) devices are to be installed. At important points, leave a break where a T-connector or 5-Way connector can be installed, and no instrument connected by a branch cable to a connector on the BackBone should be more than 5m away.
