The Raymarine bidirectional hydraulic autopilot pump is designed for boats with hydraulic steering. To choose the right pump, you need to know the volume of your boat's steering cylinder. Based on the cylinder volume, you will determine the pump type, and the autopilot course computer must be selected accordingly. You'll also need to consider whether the boat's electrical system is 12V or 24V. If you are replacing an existing pump with a new one, it's simpler: check the type and operating voltage or serial number on the old pump. The pump is supplied with bronze adaptors for connecting 1/4 NPT male threaded fittings to the pump's 1/4 BSP female threaded ports.
