The EV1 Sensor Core

Original price was: 1 128,00 €.Current price is: 1 095,00 €.

The nine-sensor EV1 is the brain of the Evolution autopilot. The EV1 sensor and heading computer measures and senses the vessel's movement in three dimensions. The EV1 sensor has an STNG (NMEA2000) interface for easy integration with the Raymarine STNG network. Its flat, weatherproof housing allows the sensor to be installed indoors or outdoors and meets IPX6 and IPX7 standards. When installing, ensure the arrow on top of the sensor points in the direction of travel and is parallel to the keel. In normal operation, the arrow's illumination is green. When choosing the location for the EV1, the principle is the same as with a fluxgate compass: ensure the sensor is away from cables and metal objects. EV-1 Sensor Core and Evolution Autopilot Components

EV (Evolution) autopilots consist of an EV-1 sensor, an Autopilot Control Unit (ACU), and an Autopilot Drive Unit (Drive). The Autopilot Drive, (mechanical/hydraulic or cockpit-mountable ram) and its corresponding ACU will depend on your vessel's steering system and vessel weight.

The heart of the Iga Evolution system is the intelligent EV course computer, a 9-axis sensor that monitors the vessel's movement in three dimensions. The innovative EV course computer combines advanced hardware sensors and the Evolution autopilot software in a single, easy-to-install unit.

The EV-1 sensors can be installed in both indoor and outdoor conditions, with a rugged housing that is fully sealed and meets IPX6 and IPX7 waterproof standards.

After general and initial settings, the Dockside Wizard and one deviation manoeuvre have been completed, users will have quick access to three different autopilot modes going forward.

Racing Performance

The most accurate course holding and good results when making automatic tacks.

Cruising Performance

Excellent course-keeping and sharp turns in all conditions – the Raymarine captain's choice.

Leisure Performance

Relaxing boat trips, as much as enjoying being at sea, are more important than maintaining a precise course.

EV on-board computer advantages:
  • Precise roll, pitch, yaw, and heave tracking, allowing the autopilot to instantly adapt if sea conditions or the vessel's dynamic behaviour change.

  • Flexible installation options. The EV-1 sensor can be installed inside the hull or on the boat deck.

  • Simple SeaTalkng connection to p70s/p70Rs, control unit and ACU and other navigation devices.

  • The hardware and software list sensor technology ensures dynamic accuracy within 2 degrees in all conditions.

  • Automatic compensation for ship and sea magnetic fields, and reliable heading accuracy in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.

  • Fast and reliable transmission of heading data for MARPA, Radar Layer, and Heading modes on Raymarine multi-function displays.
