All Raymarine SeaTalk NG cables and connectors are colour-coded:
The blue socket of the connector is suitable for a blue/black cable, which is the BackBone, i.e. the main cable, the so-called spine, also known as: Trunk Cable
The connector's white housing is suitable for a white/black cable, which is a SPUR, or branch cable, also known as a Drop Cable.
The cable won't fit in the wrong socket. When preparing the installation, make a plan so that the correctly sized BackBone cable runs
through everywhere where NMEA2000 devices need to be installed. At important points there is an interruption where a T-connector can be installed.
or a 5-way connector and no instrument connected to the connector on the Backbone via a branch cable would be further than 5m away.
